Showcasing the Best Entertainment of 2022
Overview:
IMDb’s annual ‘Best of’ event celebrates the top stars, television series, and movies of the year. It’s a recap of the best of the best, announced in Early December. Teams across the company band together for this announcement.
My Role:
In 2022, I led the Editorial content strategy for the Best Of program. My key responsibilities were 1) reviewing the top titles and stars featured in the annual announcement 1) setting up team brainstorming sessions, 2) providing insights from last year’s performance and recommendations for this year's content mix 3) setting up and driving working backwards project timelines, 4) launching content across the website through December at precise go-live times, 5) providing product copy for new features 6) partnering with cross team owners across PR, Social, Design, Engineering, and 7) being a contributing writer and video producer on the Editorial team writing headlines, campaign blurbs and creating lists/videos.
The Challenge & Process:
The main challenges were ensuring the content was launched across the website at set go-live times, managing multiple project deadlines, and ensuring all content was error-free and engaging. I worked through these challenges by creating a playbook for the event that included details on project timelines, owners, and campaign locations. This made it easy for anyone to see what the plan was and when and where the content was going live. Creating program efficiency allowed the team to increase the amount of content we produced.
The Outcome:
Through my efforts, I was able to expand the program to include 16 lists and 5 galleries across Global and India programs, generating +58.9% worldwide page views y/y through the event flight in Dec 2022. Samples of my work are included in this portfolio.
